The current status assessment is the current overview of the system. It essentially provides a break down of all the systems and information that is needed for an organization. That being said, the function and mission of an organization will mirror the existing infrastructure. It is essential for critical functions that the mirroring process is done throughout the organization. The reason for this is due to the nature of business systems. For example, one primary function of an organization is security assessment. Moreover, I am referring to disaster recovery. Disaster recovery requires that a status assessment be up to date and accurate so that any update after a disaster provides adequate information so that the assessment can be retooled and reassessed. By providing information to the disaster recovery assessment, the organization can effectively manage and prioritize systems depending on the current status assessment and the priority of which products need to be produced.
