Politics within IT Projects
I think that this would provide different understanding depending on who you ask (business verses technology). On the business note, business would feel that a budget would be justified based on the time allotted and information provided. The key term here is information provided. If a organization does not correctly provide information to the business side of the system, then the IT department can be riddled with issues. If the system is not correctly communicated (with all of the resorces) then the situation can be troubling if the system is required by the business side. Alternatively, on the IT side, if the organization were to provide meaningful feedback that the business side can use, than it will be well on its way to develop a system on its worth. I think it comes down to the availability, time spent, and lateness that comes from issues from IT. All those things along with a correct budget will provide a understanding of the worth of projects. Many times this will provide different information. The best thing to do is collaborate between the two and come to a conclusion between the two systems.
