Managerial Decision Making
The title is a broad overview of what management is in a nutshell. It is about managers making tough decisions day in and out. The biggest priority for any manager is the ability to address a situation and provide a multitude of options for a resolution. In general, you will never run into a situation where a single resolution meets the needs of everyone. It seems to be that someone or somthing will inevitably be lost in the resolution. You can, however, increase inclusiveness in a decision by priortizing tasks and ensuring that you are addressing the resolution the way any mathamatican would. This means run the numbers and find a resolution that meets the needs of most of your concerns. Run the numbers and find out which tweak to which resolution will ultimately get you the best “bang for your buck”. If you can help the most amount of people, services, or systems that you can by implimenting a single change, you have done your job. That is the true meaning of managerial decision making.
