I have said it once and I will say it again, any and every manager should understand it is imperative to lead by example.  It will boost moral, ensure that your colleagues trust and can put their mindset on success, and feel that they are being held accountable to the same type of criteria that you are.  Here is an example.  Lets say you get into work 5 minutes late.  One thing you will notice as a manager is that EVERYONE will see you walk in 5 minutes late.  This will lose confidence in the system of time management at work.
