The best way to budget for your new business can be very challenging.  Many times, small business owners do not have the know how to actually budget correctly.  Here are the best ways to do so.

Think of a budget as an extension of your business.  You want to make sure that your budget includes your goals and ensures correct progression

Start your budget through a REALISTIC sales target.  Remember, if you don’t know or if you are new with no data, be conservative

Estimate your cost and ensure that there is nothing that you can see which will change your product cost and develop a gross margin

Be liberal of your variable and flexible expenses (gas) and ensure you know your fixed expenses.  If it is a new organization, you may want to think about doing this over a second time half (or in quarters) through a businesses first year
