Implimenting Projects Late
Here is the scenario. You are working on a project (design) and it looks like you may implement the project later than expected. Implementing the project late could mean a possible schedule overrun which could lead to a cost overrun. A delayed start time has many side effects including the chain reaction of having to start other tasks late or having to add more manpower to work on tasks in parallel with others or having staff work overtime in order to catch up the project. This could put a strain on the resources until the project is back on schedule. Also beginning the project late will mean meetings will need to be rescheduled and others may not be too pleased as they may have an already busy schedule. You will want to ensure that you keep the stakeholders of the project happy (in any way possible). The impact of beginning late may not be too great as long as you are able to get the project back on schedule and ensure that your stakeholders are happy. The pressure is clearly there and ensuring that you meet your goals (even if they have been updated) should be your priority. The worst thing you could do is reschedule a completion and not meet the goals after the changes have been made.
