I was recently approached by a manager about the concern that they were unable to get through to their subordinates.  I asked them what they were asking them to do and where the failure had instilled.  I listened intently and it looked to me that there was a communication gap between what the manager wanted and what the workers were doing.  This lead me to write about how important it is to communicate CORRECTLY what you want.  For example, what you want and say should mean one thing: the thing you are asking for.  Any ambiguity and you have failed to communicate correctly as a manager.
